Arthur Pagiwa is current President of ZimNA. He holds aBSc Nutrition from University of Zimbabwe, MSc Strategic Management from Chinhoyi University of Technology and an MPH from Africa University. His interests are in micronutrients, food fortification and supplementation programs for vulnerable communities.

Tendai Gunda is Vice President for ZimNA. She holds a BSc in Nutrition from the university of Zimbabwe.Her interests are in programming and monitoring of community or public health nutrition interventions to address stunting and micronutrient deficiencies in Zimbabwe.

Dr TM Matsungo

Secretary General

Tonderayi “Tonde” Matsungo is the current Secretary General of ZimNA. He holds a PhD (Nutrition) from The North-West University (RSA), a BSc in Nutrition and an M.Phil. in Human Physiology all from the University of Zimbabwe. His research focuses on stunting prevention strategies in low income settings. Tonde is also passionate about capacity and leadership development for nutrition practitioners in Africa and globally. He is a committee member for the Education Committee for Nutritionists and Dietitians for the Allied Health Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (AHPCZ),and is the Southern African Regional Representative for the African Nutrition Society (ANS). Tonde is the co-editor of the ZimNA newsletter The Nutritionist.

Monica Muti is Vice Secretary General for ZimNA. She holds a BSc in Nutrition and an MPH from the university of Zimbabwe. Her interests are in programming and monitoring of community or public health nutrition interventions to address stunting and micronutrient deficiencies in Zimbabwe.

Mr Mufaro Chiriga

Treasurer

Mufaro Chiriga is the Treasurer for ZimNA. He holds a MSc in Human Nutrition (Public Health Nutrition) from the university of Aberdeen in UK and a BSc from the University of Zimbabwe. His experience ranges from Maternal, Infant and Young Child Nutrition, stunting prevention and treatment of acute malnutrition programming. He has a keen and growing interest in Health Policy and System Research.

Dr Prosper Chopera

Chair of the Scientific & CPD Committee

Prosper Kujinga Chopera is the Chair of the Scientific & CPD Committee of ZimNA. She is a holder of a BSc Nutrition Science from the University of Zimbabwe, and MSc in Nutrition and Health (specialization Public Health Nutrition) and a PhD from Wageningen University, The Netherlands. Her research includes micro-nutrients, food fortification and she is interested in the utilisation of research findings to improve humanitarian interventions aimed at improving the quality of life for vulnerable population groups worldwide. She is a sub editor of the Faculty of Science Newsletter The Scientist and editor of the ZimNA newsletter The Nutritionist.

Mr Craig Nyathi

Craig Nyathi is a committee member in the ZimNA Executive Board. He holds a BSc in Nutrition from the University of Zimbabwe and an MSc Nutrition Management from the University of Western Cape (RSA). He has over 7 years’ experience implementing both nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive interventions. Craig has a strong passion for Designing for Behaviour Change and believes that the key to improving nutrition status at population level is to make available scientific and evidence based information to health workers. He is currently a country representative for HIFA an organisation dedicated to making health information widely accessible even to the most remotely stationed health worker.

Ms Tavia Matikiti

Tavia Matikiti is a committee member in the ZimNA Executive Board.She holds a BSc in from the university of Zimbabwe and a MSc in Development Studies from the National University of Science and Technology. She believes that optimal nutrition during early childhood lays a strong foundation for growth and development as well as long term health. Throughout her career in the NGO sector, Government and Private sector, her focus has consistently been on maternal and child nutrition. Tavia is an avid member of the Rotary Anns of Hunyani.

Mr Denford Nhamo

Student Representative

Denford Nhamo is the Student Representative to the ZimNA Executive Board. He recently completed his BSc Hons in Nutrition Science with the University of Zimbabwe. Denford has been involved workplace wellness activities and World Breastfeeding Week street campaigns. His major interests are in nutrition research and advocacy.
